About Lukas:
Lukas Ventouras is a first-generation American, product of Greek immigrants. His grandfather, Lambros, walked through Ellis Island in the 1950's as a refugee from the Greek Civil War.
He was born at North Shore Hospital, moving to East Northport when he was three years old. East Northport is his true home, where he was raised, embodying everything about this district and the people who raised him. Whether it was summers with his grandparents in Mattituck or winters at North Sport playing Eatons Neck Basketball, Long Island has always been who Lukas is.
Having attended and graduated from Fifth Avenue Elementary, East Northport Middle and Northport High School, Lukas is a proud product of the public school education system.
When he was growing up, his mother, Helen, worked two jobs while studying for her PhD, teaching as an adjunct professor and working as a therapist until she expanded her private practice. His father, Gerasimos, ran a familial real estate business and was primarily responsible for taking care of Lukas and his brother, Marko, while his mom worked late nights.
In 2023, Lukas graduated from NYU, majoring in history and minoring in broadcast journalism, during which time he founded and served as the inaugural president of Students Demand Action's NYU chapter and had a stint as a sports reporter for Student Gamecock Television.
He will shortly finish his education at St. John's University School of Law, having gained valuable experience working in the Law Offices Frederick Brewington, the finest civil rights attorney in New York State, where he was tasked with delivering a seminar on Project 2025 to a team of lawyers and community leaders. He also served as president of St. John's chapter of the American Constitution Society.
Lukas interned in the Flushing office of Congresswoman Grace Meng when she co-sponsored H.R.8448, the "No Tax Breaks for Union Busting (NTBUB) Act" the year after serving as an intern writer for Mediaite.
Lukas truly never wanted to be in politics. As a kid, he dreamed of being an author, working in the UN as a lawyer or as a journalist, but he felt that it was time for a new voice in Long Island politics, one who has a
vision for our shared future.
