I firmly believe that this country is lagging in terms of child rearing. Diapers, formula, and food are too expensive. Children grow too fast for the now expensive clothing they require. Raising children is too expensive, before they even reach college age. We need to expand opportunities for work for young parents, work to lower costs of child rearing items, work to lower the cost of colleges, implement a child tax credit, implement universal paid leave, etc.
We must establish federally guaranteed paid family leave, (sick leave & maternal/paternal leave)
We must establish a child tax credit
In 2021, the one-year expansion of the child tax credit led to a 46 percent decline in the U.S. child poverty rate, which sharply rose again once it expired.
We must fight the cost of living crisis by LOWERING taxes for middle and low income families. For too long the working class has subsidized the billionaire class, while these same billionaires cheated taxes and hid their money overseas.
We must protect our children's futures by:
Protecting their education.
Make sure there is EQUITY in schools.
A school district like Riverhead, needs the same resources and availabilities as one like Northport or Commack
