In this country, it costs way too much to stay healthy. As the richest country in the history of the world, it is unconscionable for people to skip meals to pay for their medicine or treatment, or skip treatment to put food on the table. I believe we must implement single payer healthcare, the negotiation of all drug prices, not just by Medicare, increased access and coverage of Medicare and Medicaid, and fight against pharmaceutical, insurance and hospital price gouging. I support expanding Medicare coverage by allowing Americans below the age of 65 to buy into Medicare, and fighting hard against cuts/privatization of Medicare and Medicaid, and I will do everything I can to protect patients from exploitation and by Medicare Advantage plans.
“A single-payer health care system would be much more economically efficient than our current fragmented structure and would save over $450 billion per year,” - Alison Galvani Ph.D
